About

Dr. Whitney Brammer received her doctoral degree from UCLA and completed her doctoral internship at Providence Saint John's Child and Family Development Center. She received specialization in working with adolescents and young adults within her postdoctoral psychology fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine. Dr. Brammer continues to deliver therapy to underserved teens and young adults, conduct research, and provide teaching/training as a licensed psychologist within Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at CHLA. In addition to her clinical work, research, and teaching roles at CHLA, Dr. Brammer provides therapy through private practice to support individuals and families progress toward wellness. Dr. Brammer is passionate about supporting individuals increase their resilience to cope with adversity and life stress. She is trained in interventions and tools that are backed by research, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and mindfulness-based therapies. Studies have shown these techniques to be effective in treating a wide variety of difficulties, including depression and mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and loss, disordered eating, academic and job distress, and relationship concerns.
